"Mark had already been appointed to assist with the month-end process in doing the management accounts in our chemical adhesives business. His remit was extended to payroll covering almost 200 employees, of which the clear majority were hourly paid direct employees. The shift patterns were relatively routine, but overtime rules were more complex, and Mark handled the payroll exceptionally well to strict deadlines. He took the headache away from me at the busiest time of the month and let me focus on financial and operational issues under distressed trading circumstances at the time. This proved that outsourcing payroll is more valuable to the business in freeing me up as FD to attend to performance issues rather than worrying about the minor cost of outsourcing payroll itself. Mark also provided a payroll database extract so I could keep very precise control of the labour costs and associated analysis. I enjoyed working with Mark and would work with him again."
“Minimal Fuss and Accurate to Tight Deadlines”
"Mark was engaged to do the payroll for our chilled pastry factory in Corby during this period immediately following my departure from Chemence. We ran various overlapping 4-on, 4-off shift patterns for the factory, which also had significant absence issues to handle in working out the correct hours. The overtime rules were also awkward, and the variety of deductions made this a complex payroll for about 120 employees, of which maybe 30 were staff and therefore simpler. Mark handled this engagement with minimal fuss being on time and accurate to tight deadlines. We reviewed several times each month to ensure accuracy and his work schedule accommodated our timeframes regardless of the time of day. I would have no hesitation in using him again."

"Mark was retained to do the payroll at Hawes, so clearly I did not have any hesitation in engaging his services again. We had a factory of hourly paid employees on a variety of more complex and variable shifts with some very precise and extensive overtime rules arising from legacy issues in previous years. In addition, with a largescale reduction in headcount over the year, there were many issues with payroll for leavers and the importance of accuracy for leavers is even more paramount, especially with the risk of overpayment and possible bad debts. Mark learned these rules well and we had disciplined review procedures pre-and post-net pay calculation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Mark yet again did a fantastic job on tighter deadlines with 175 employees. He is also great value for money and can be relied upon to get the job done when you need it done, putting himself and his staff at your disposal when your timescale dictates."
